“Glamping” at Treebones Resort

TREEBONES resORT

Treebones Resort has become our favorite getaway.

The “glamping” destination features bookable campsites and yurts in a serene atmosphere, overlooking the ocean, with the convenience of a restaurant and hot showers in the main lodge nearby. During the day, you can meander around the resort’s well-kept grounds, featuring an organic garden, an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, and unique lodging options like the Twig Hut and Human Nest. At night, you can stargaze at the Milky Way and hear sea lions barking in the distance.

THE SUSHI BAR

If you’re a foodie, please make a reservation at the on-site Sushi Bar. Seating is highly limited, so be sure to book in advance. The experience features an elaborate 16-course omakase chef’s choice tasting menu, pairing sashimi with herbs and seasonings from the resort’s organic garden.

It’s a splurge, at $100 per person (plus an optional sake pairing for $80 per person.) But it’s worth it. Probably the only place in the world you can eat saba with baby redwood pine needles.
